Cleft nose deformity is the most common congenital nasal deformation.

Unilateral cleft nasal deformity is more common than bilateral cleft nose deformity.

Many people think cleft nose deformity stems from genetic reason but circumstantial factor affects more when genetic factor is known to be about 20% ~ 30%

Cleft nose deformity always accompanies deformation of nose column, nasal tip, nasal alar and nasal septum.

Generally, lips and plate suture treatment is conducted between 3 months to 1 year after birth.

After that, secondary operation period for correcting cleft nose deformity, including nasal bone, is better to be after age 16 ~ 17 when growth of nose is over.

However, severe nose deformation can be mentally stressful during adolescene perid, so soft tissue such as nasal tip or alar can be simply corrected in advance without touching nose bone between age 6 to 10.
