Definition of Nasal reconstruction surgery

Nasal reconstruction surgery is to repair nasal deformities due to skin necrosis, trauma, cancer or missing nasal anatomy. 


Method of Hanabi's nasal reconstruction


1) Reconstruction of nasal cartilage
To make nasal cartilage and supporting structure, rib cartilage is usually used. But  if needed, ear cartilage or ear skin can be used together.

2) Reconstruction of nasal skin
To reconstruct nasal skin and muscous, skin of forehead or nasobial fold can be used. If reconstruction range is not wide, surrounding skin of nose can be used.

3) Aesthectic purposed surgery
After nasal reconstruction surgery, additional surgery for aesthetic purpose might be needed.
If necessary Aesthetic purposed surgery, it will conducted after 6 months later.

Causes of asymmetirc nostrils

Causes of asymmetirc nostrils. 


Asymmetric nostrils can occur either naturally or secondary to prior rhinoplasty or truma.

1) Deviation of the caudal septum which is the closest to the nostril openings.

-> Correction of the caudal septal deviaion to make nasal septum straight.

2) Differences of the lengthening of nasal alar rim




-> Correction of the alar rim size using incision method to make same asymmetric alar size.
