Droopy nasal tip correction

What is droopy nasal tip?

A droopy nasal tip is when the tip of the nose points downwards.

There are many cases of droopy looking tips when smiling and short looking philtrum.

Droopy nasal tip gives aged facial impression or make the face look long.


Causes of droopy nasal tip

1) The nasal tip supports becomes weaker.

2) The nasal tip grows to downwards.

3) Then nasal tip plasty using weak septal cartilage.


Correction of droopy nasal tip

1) Analyze nasal tip structure using 3D-CT



2) Using nasal septum cartilage, strengthen and lift up a droopy nasal tip.




3) If strength is not enough, add ear cartilage to nasal support.





4) Consider Ideal angle from nasal tip to upper-lips.





5) In a case of revision, cartilage amount is not enough. In this case, rib cartilage recommended.





Rib cartilage is autologous material and is hard enough to overcome the tension, and its amount is enough.
